A Baby Sister

Eden is dying for a baby sister. I keep telling her that Heavenly Father decides if our family needs a baby sister or a baby brother. The poor girl is going to be heartbroken if we have another boy. She asks about it everyday and I'm not even pregnant yet! Really, I'm not.

Today she was talking about it in the car (again) and I reminded her that we don't get to pick. She said, "I'll say a prayer to Heavenly Father." Then she said a prayer right there in the car asking for a baby sister. When she was done she asked, "Do you think Jesus said yes? I think he said yes!" Love that childlike faith. I hope for her sake that she gets her baby sister or we'll have to have a few complicated conversations!

Random Thoughts

Okay, so what happened to cheesy saxophone solos of the 80's? I know guitar solos are pretty classic, but the 80's was chock-full of saxophone solos. You don't hear them nowadays. Anyone notice that?

Peter always has a few biographies of General Authorities in our little toilet room on the floor. That's fine, but let me just say it's kinda hard to go pee with President Monson smiling up at you!

Every once in a while, Peter will get a random voice mail on his phone. It's always from me, unaware that my phone even called him. So it's just me and the kids talking in the background for a few minutes until the time limit expires. This has happened a few different times, and now I am always freaked out that I might be accidentally calling people. People don't want to hear our conversations, and they definitely don't want to hear me singing in the car, which I always do, very loudly! So if you accidentally get called, please hang up as soon as you figure out it's an accident!

Anyone reading anything good lately? I need some recommendations.

I've gotten into Family History lately, and let me tell you, it can be frustrating! I found some mistakes way back in one of my lines (according to my research), and I'm not sure what to do about it. Any insights? That being said, Family History is pretty cool. Some of my ancestors had some really cool names! Lots of Scottish nobility too. Pretty awesome.

I got Chicago 17 a while ago. I remember listening to this album a ton as a kid in California. Brings back lots of memories!

A Surprise

Peter is the best! He actually managed to surprise me this Valentine's Day, which is hard to do. Not because I snoop, but because we can't keep surprises from each other. He got me a picture from Deseret Book that I had asked for for Christmas. I wasn't shocked that I didn't get it then, because it would have cost his entire Christmas budget for me, plus he doesn't always get what I want when I want it, or else I'll know what I'm getting. But he's a great listener when I'm telling him things I would like, and he saves the ideas for later. I came into our room on Monday night to find the picture on my desk. I had to do a double-take! It was a great surprise and very generous of Peter. I love it!Rescue of the Lost Lamb

Spectacular Spiderman

We have been watching a cartoon on Netflix as a family every once in a while in the evenings, Spectacular Spiderman. It's actually really good and much more like the comic books than the movies were. Peter and I are constantly busting up at Spiderman's quips, and the kids of course love it. It's good family time for us. We all pile on our bed and plug the laptop into the TV.

Well, last weekend Jonah and Eden went to a birthday party for their good friend, and it was a superhero party. The kids were supposed to dress up. I dug out this Spiderman costume I had bought on clearance after Halloween for like $5. I was saving it for next year, but Jonah was super excited that he could wear it before then- and that Spidey had muscles! He started flexing and showing off as soon as he got the thing on.Eden dressed up as Princess Tiana for the party. We did have a spare Buzz Lightyear costume, but I'm sure she would have rather been a girl. She was the only girl at the party, so it didn't matter. The kids had a blast, and when I came to pick them up, Spiderman, 2 Ironmans, and a Ninja Turtle were in the middle of a battle! It was pretty funny. Don't know when my kids are going to grow out of thinking dressing up is fun, but in the meantime, it's a lot of fun for me to see them making up their own stories and pretending.

Levi didn't get to go to the party, so he got some quality time with Peter and I at Paradise Bakery. He insisted on wearing his Darth Vader costume. I guess he's okay with being the bad guy.
