I have the nicest husband ever! Peter decided (on his own!) that I needed a break from the kids to get some "me time" and sent me up to Provo to visit my sister, Kira, for a long weekend. He took two days off work and watched the kids so I could go. Thank you, Peter!
I had never been inside the Salt Lake Temple, so after Kira picked me up from the airport, we went over to do a session. It was my first "live" session and I loved it. I got some new insight and it was just a really neat experience.

We bummed around Temple Square for a while and then watched the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Neither of us had seen it, and it was really amazing. Here I am with my yummy grapefruit!

We ate at the Blue Plate Diner in Sugarhouse, which was sooo yummy! Highly recommended!

Here is my spinach tomato omelet with avocado! It was so fluffy!

On Friday, we went to Jimmy John's, a sandwich shop that Kira and I used to work at in St. George. We love that place. We drove through the canyon and it was really beautiful. We also went to Red Robin for dinner- my first time. I don't know why I have never been there before, but it was good.

Kira works in the Provo Temple every Saturday morning, so while she was working, I got to do Initiatories. It was fun being in the Provo Temple- it brought back a lot of memories of being in the MTC. It was nice that I was able to go to the temple twice on my trip. I don't get to go very often at home.

Saturday afternoon was the BYU game, and we were so happy that it didn't rain or snow at the game! It was cold, but we survived and had pretty good seats. BYU is still undefeated! Go Cougars!

On Sunday, Kira had to go to her ward, so I went with her. It was pretty awkward going to a singles ward now that I'm married and have three kids. I felt so out of place. That was the longest three hours of my life! We ate a yummy lunch with Mike and Donna. (Kira lives in their basement.) They were so nice and hospitable. Thanks for letting me stay there, Mike, Donna, and Kira!
Anyway, I had a great time! It was fun being back in Provo, although I was reminded of how lucky I am to not live in snow (it snowed twice and was generally freezing most of the weekend). I am happy to be back in 85 degree weather! I was missing my flip flops and shorts!

That looks like a really fun trip! What a sweet husband!
Glad you got to go. You and Kira have not been able to spend good quality time together since before your missions. You DO have the best husband. Thank you Peter for being such a great guy!
Looks like fun!
What a great husband! It looks like you guys had a blast too. I LOVE the Blue Plate Diner. It is close to where I used to work, yummy! Sorry your weekend was so cold, it was freezing! Glad you had a great time, you look cute in your pics with your blond hair.
What a fun getaway! I'm so glad you were able to hang out on your own, with no kids! Dreamy.
Wow, two Temple trips! Unheard of! Between pregnancies and breastfeeding I have not been able to go to the Temple very much since my first pregnancy, and I have never done anything but a session since my own...someday. Got to get these kids here though...
Sounds like you had a lot of fun. That was so nice of Peter, what a great and thoughtful guy. I am glad that you were able to hang out with your sister kid free. That is a rare thing to have once you have kids. I guess it would be pretty weird to go to a singles ward, after you are married! Now you can put that on your list of weird and awkward stuff you have done. That is awesome that you got to go to the Temple twice, and to a live session too, I have never been to one...yet. I always feel guilty that Kevin and I don't go to the Temple as much as we should. We only live about 5 minutes away from one! I don't think we will make it to the Temple before the baby comes, we will have to get over there sometime soon. I got to go visit my sister, but I had to take all the kids with me and my sister was gone most of the time I was there, so the trip was kind of a bust. Oh well. I am glad you got some quality time in with Kira.
cute pics connie! looks like you guys had fun. wish i could have been there, but i'm glad you got to go to the temple! :)
So fun! I'm glad you enjoyed your excursion to Northern Utah... I'm a fan, you know!
That made me miss Utah so much! What a sweet husband you have. Glad you had fun even if it was cold!
I'm glad you had a good time! It's a bummer you came out when the weather wasn't that great, but I'm sure you still had a good time. Kenneth came to my house the other day and just the two of us were able to sit and talk and laugh. It was nice to just be with him for awhile. We mentioned that we don't get to do that very often, and then wished that you and Kira were with us.
Glad you got to go to Utah (said with a hint of jealousy). And I know what you mean about the live session. Certain things stood out to me that didn't before. It was awesome.
Awesome! It was super freezing this weekend - still is, darn it?! It's supposed to warm up to the 70's by Friday though - good old Utah weather! Gotta love it! I think going to the SLC temple is a very cool experience too. I learn so much when I go there.
That weeknd was way fun. I forgot how much we share a brain. Like several times something would happen and we'd just look at each other and laugh our heads off. We didn't even have to say anything cause we were thinking the same thing. Haha. thank you Peter- you really are a sweetheart
