I guess I have still not recovered from the hours I was keeping during the Olympics. I have been up almost every night until 2 am doing something. I guess I'm just not tired. I was up until 3 last night reupholstering an ottoman I got at DI (pictures to come). I am forcing myself to go to bed by 10:30 tonight!
This is the time of year when I wish we had satellite TV. BYU (and most college) football is a love of mine that I haven't been able to be a part of for about 7 years now! I am dying to go to a game this year, especially since I won't be watching any on TV.
What did we do this last week? I can't even remember. Oh yeah! We had some crazy thunderstorms going on. I was driving home from Enrichment one night, and I thought I was going to get struck by lightening. There was lightning all around me, and I could see huge bolts going all the way to the ground! Yikes! We had a few days of that; it actually lasted longer than usual. Storms come and go really quickly here. I usually am not a huge fan of rain, but it's really awesome in Arizona. It's either raining while the sun shines, or it's bringing down trees and the thunder is shaking the ground. I guess that's only fun when it's over and you know you survived! You've gotta love monsoon season.
The kids have been pretty good lately. They play well together, but still get into mischief. One day Levi woke up from his nap to a bunch of pillows and balls in his crib. Thank goodness he's big enough now to move around if he can't breathe!
We also had Lexie and her kids over for 2 days. We went to our cousin's wedding open house, and just hung out and let the kids play (and fight). A crazy but fun weekend.
Halloween is coming, and I am so excited! I absolutely love Halloween. I have no idea why. I don't like being scared or watching scary movies, but I just love this holiday! I think part of it is the whole season starting. It's the beginning of all of the best holidays, right in the middle of my favorite season, right next to my birthday, and you've gotta love being able to dress up as anything you want without people thinking you're weird!
I have already started getting the kids' costumes ready. I start planning it out a few months in advance every year. I just can't help myself. Jonah is going to be Buzz Lightyear (he doesn't know yet, but will be stoked). Eden will be Snow White. She doesn't even know who Snow White is (thank you, Disney Vault), but she'll just be happy to wear something "pitty". Levi will be donning the first of many hand-me-down costumes, I'm sure. He will be wearing Jonah's old tiger costume. Poor kid. But it's a cute costume. I'm not about to let it go to waste. So I just have to decide what to be (yes, I am dressing up). Peter can if he wants to, but he will probably wait until the day before to tell me what elaborate costume he wants (me) to put together.
I am thinking of being Cruella Deville, but I'll have to figure out how much I'll have to make vs. buy. I think I can use a lot of what I have, but I'll need a wig and something to resemble fur. Other ideas include a ballerina with one of my longer homemade tutus, which would be a fairly easy costume, and a witch- kind of generic, but it would be fun. Also, I could be Tinkerbell- I have fabric I could use to make a dress, and the rest would be easy. I have also been playing with the idea of Rainbow Bright, which would be fun, but might be the most expensive to create. Vote on my poll and tell me what you think, although I might not go with the popular vote, depending on budget and time...
Anyway, that's what we've been up to/I've been thinking about lately. In other great news, the Office should be starting up again soon, and season 4 goes on sale this month. Yeah!

Haha a lot going on! Levi is so cute!!! I think you should be Cruella because it goes with Buzz and Snow White! And Eden will be so cute! I'm going to love Jonah's because you know I like Buzz. Yay! Another Buzz to play with!
I've been thinking about Halloween costumes too. It's really not that far away! I hope you make your Cruella Deville costume. Sounds great!
Cute haircut too. Excellent skills.
I just had to laugh at the the disney vault comment. Honestly
for real...wouldn't mind about 3 that are in the vault right now. I should probably get sleeping beauty while it's out, or is it?...hmmm...
I love little baby mullets! haha they do need to be chopped though! I really like the cruella idea that would be fun!
I think Cruella would be awesome... go for it! We've had Dish Network for years and now we have Direct TV and have never really gotten any BYU football games. They seem to put the channel that carries BYU games in a special sports package that I won't pay extra for, so it makes my husband depressed every fall. I think I know which storm you were talking about... it was headed our way but barely missed us. I love the monsoon storms, but I don't love the humidity during the rest of the day!
I can't wait to get Leif's first haircut... Josh won't let me schedule til after his Birthday! Silly man! Sounds like you've been keeping busy. By the way, Halloween is my favorite...it's too much fun.
Man, Levi just went from being a toddler to a little man! He looks like Jonah from the back. Cute little kid. I can't believe he's going to be a year old. Hugs and Kisses to him.
I think you should do Cruella and have the kids (or at least one) be a puppy. (for them you could just do a sweat suit with black spots and whoola) I totally LOVE Disney villans!
I'm still on for the pictures if you are! I can take random pictures of the kids in the house, but family pics will have to be outside.. . whenever you are ready to brave the heat!
I'm a D.I. fan too. There's a lot of junk there, but if you can sift through it before your kids start wailing too loud, you can get some great deals on stuff. I'm impressed you can recover stuff... very cool. Can't wait to see the pics. I love the fun of Halloween too... but I haven't started thinking costumes yet. I need to get on the ball like you!
That would be a great costume for you! I don't even think you need a wig--just get some of that spray-on coloring for your hair in white and black. That stuff makes your hair really stiff, you'd be able to style it perfectly for the part. It won't be too expensive that way!
