I just found out about this, so it's a little late...On Aug. 16, 2008 Christian and Stephanie (Nie) Nielson & Doug Kinneard, the flight instructor were in a place crash in Arizona. Doug passed away after arriving at the hospital but Stephanie and her husband lived. They remain in critical condition at Maricopa Burn Center. Christian has sustained burns on over 30% of his body. Stephanie’s body was burned over 80%. They have months of surgeries and the medical bills are expected to be in the millions. They currently live in Mesa, Arizona and have four beautiful children.
I have never met this family, but wanted to get the word out. Designmom has declared today Nienie day. Auctions have been setup all over the blogosphere in hopes that we bloggers can somehow come together for this family who needs us. If you go to Designmom's blog, there is a humongous list of links to bloggers who have donated their handmade items or skills to help out. All of the proceeds will go toward the Nielson family. Please go check it out! Even my awesome cousin-in-law, Dana, has donated some of her adorable handmade kids clothes. If I can figure out if it's not too late, I might post something for the silent auction as well.

I was totally crying after checking out Nie's blog and all her posts. What a beautiful family.
