Update

Thanks for the Blogger advice and the general validation that the new interface sucks. Maybe they will realize how many people hate it and change it back. But probably not.

Okay, so I should probably do a quick update on what's happening NOW before I go all the way back to November.

Today I got Invisalign. My teeth are not really that crooked, just jutting out a little, and I have a little crowding here and there. Not noticeable to any regular person. To me, the imperfections were noticeable and annoying. We have great dental insurance, so we decided to go ahead and do it. I now have my trays in and have to wear them for 20 weeks. That's it! SO much better than braces. I can take them out to eat, take pictures, brush my teeth, etc.

The kids get out of school in two days! I am so excited! Mostly, I'm excited to never have to drive them 20 minutes one way to school. They will be going to a new charter school next year, which is being built right in our neighborhood! I couldn't have asked for a better school to be built near us. It's a Covey Lighthouse school, which means they integrate the 7 habits of highly-successful people into their everyday curriculum. The phonics program is the same as their last school, so hopefully the transition will be a piece of cake. And bonus- they are going to be on modified year-round, so they start July 30th! Perfect! Just enough summer to have fun, and then, BAM! New school year. This school coming in is actually a real blessing for us. With the baby coming, it would have been really hard getting them to their old school.

I need to get the boys' hair cut, but really don't want to! Their hair looks so great, in my opinion, but it's almost inhumane to leave it long for the summer. Jonah will need a haircut by the time school starts anyway. The boys have to have their hair cut above their ears as part of the school dress code. I'm sure I'll break down and do it soon.

The pregnancy is going fine. I am now 26.5 weeks. I'm a little worried about the summer and the bloating and water-retention. I'm hoping this girl shows up a little early (but not too early). I've gained about 17 pounds, and considering I started underweight for my height, I'm sure I'm right on track. The doctor hasn't said a word to me about my weight. I had an appointment a week ago though and he told me that the cyst in baby girl's tummy has completely disappeared. Yay! Everything looks good. She is hanging out breech right now, but we have a lot of time. I really hope she turns.

I'll tell ya, this little girl likes to kick at night! She knows her roots, because she is constantly doing an Irish jig on my bladder! I can't wait to meet her and see what she looks like.

We are still stuck on names. The only thing we know for sure is that her middle name will be June, after my Great-Grandma, June Moncur Sorenson. We have had such a hard time thinking of a name for this little stinker! We have a HUGE list of names we have been thinking of this whole pregnancy, and we finally talked last night and rated them all. We are now down to five names, but anything can change.

I am looking round. People keep telling me I look small, but I don't believe them. Plus Peter agrees with me. And he's honest with me :) I haven't taken a single belly shot this pregnancy. Guess I need to get on that.

Next week we will start the crazy summer fun! Swimming lessons, summer movies at the theater, Mom school (I'm making them work a little to keep up their skills), and library trips. The summer will fly by, with any luck.

Okay, so the next few posts will probably be back-posts, but I need to catch up! Nice to know there are still friends out there blogging.

Fall Soccer

Wow, I don't blog for 6 months and Blogger changes everything! And the changes suck! Seriously, is anyone else getting a bug report popping up every five seconds? Anyway...

New Family Pictures!

Thanks again, Kayleen, for taking our family pictures for the year! This year we took our pictures in the pecan groves. The kids did pretty well at smiling and listening to Kayleen. Jonah was so funny; he changed poses after every shot. And of course, the kids loved kicking up the dirt.

Awesome and Awkward

Okay, so I think everyone knows Sydney of The Daybook. And if you don't, you might as well click that linky there and go meet her, because she's fabulous. She does a cute thing on Thursdays called Awesome and Awkward. Here's my little version.

Awesome- Heard the Ray Conniff Singers for the first time this season on the radio! It reminded me of you, Lexie! Too bad it wasn't one of their medleys...

Peter and I got a Bop It XT (SO bringing it to Thanksgiving) and have been trying to beat each other's high score, and after three whole days of trying, I finally beat him by two. Ha ha, take that!

Awkward- Feeling pretty good about my outfit on Sunday (got a few compliments) until I look down during Young Women and realized that you could see a bright yellow Care Bear band-aid on my ankle through my awesome lacy tights. The Young Women had a pretty good laugh.

It's always a little uncomfortable standing for the theme in Young Women because us members of the presidency sit in the front and for some reason the front row of chairs is always pretty close to us. So we stand up to say the theme and us leaders and the girls in the front row are basically chest to chest. Um, super awkward.

Downright Sad- Holding Levi and pinning his arms and legs while he got 6 shots today. Four in the legs and two in the arms. Poor kid could not even walk to the car.

Vertuccio Farms

Last Saturday after Jonah's birthday party, we spent some time as a family at a nearby corn maze and farm. We took to the corn maze first.

The kids love looking and petting the farm animals. This guy had a cute little curly beard.See that thing in the back? We had a blast bouncing together! (Well, besides Levi. He didn't really like it so much.)
We also took a ride on the "train." It was a pretty fun place. I can't believe we hadn't heard of it before. We'll have to go again next year!

Jonah's 7th Birthday

Jonah had a Phineas and Ferb birthday party on Saturday. We ate pizza, played pin the hat on Agent P, watched an episode of the show, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream. I didn't get any pictures of the game, but here are some group shots. How cute, I just noticed that the kids are holding hands.Silly faces.Not sure what the head tilting is about. Jonah got some nice presents. Levi and Jonah have both been playing with his new toys. Jonah got an airplane and a few Lego sets, his first ones! I haven't ever got Jonah Legos because he's never asked for them or shown much interest, but he put these together by himself the next morning before I even came downstairs! Guess I'm going to have to give in to the world of Legos :) Jonah knew exactly what kind of cake he wanted. I tried to convince him to let me make a Perry cake (because it would have been easier), but he wanted Phineas, just Phineas. The proportions are a bit off, but it kind of looks like him.
I think Jonah had a good time. My favorite part was chatting with my sister-in-law, Jen!
