Vegas Getaway

My parents were kind enough to watch our kids for three days so Peter and I could have one last vacation together before the baby came. We had the best time! We had a hard time deciding where to go. We didn't want to go too far this time and have to pay for flights, so choices were slim. I am so glad we chose Vegas! I never thought a vacation to Vegas would be that fun, having grown up there and in the surrounding areas, but it was a blast.

We picked a hotel that was smoking and gaming free, and I'm convinced that that's what made the trip so enjoyable. That, and room service :) I would go back to Trump in a heartbeat (had a hard time leaving, actually)! It was so beautiful and quiet and smelled like flowers whenever we walked in, as opposed to stale smoke and the sound of slot machines going off, like most of the other hotels in Vegas. We were right across the street from the Fashion Show Mall, which was convenient, because I like to shop while on vacation :)

The first day we went shopping at H&M, ate at Tommy Bahama's restaurant, and went to the movies. That night we walked around a little bit, but I wore the wrong kind of shoes for walking and we had to buy me some flip flops. That helped a lot! We saw Bumblebee hanging out and thought we'd snap a picture for Levi. The second day, we went to the Paris for breakfast/lunch. We decided on the buffet, which was really good. My favorite things were the crepes (of course), the prime rib, and the little french pastries and desserts. After lunch, we went back to the hotel pool. It was wonderful! It was actually pretty windy, but we didn't care; it was warm enough that it didn't matter. I just laid there forever. It was so relaxing!

That night, we went to see The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. Peter insisted on getting us really good seats- 6th row! I'm beginning to think he's right- for musicals and plays you have to get good enough seats so you can actually see the actors' faces. It was amazing! I hadn't seen it before, so it was really great for me. Here's our view before the show started.
And we took this picture after the show, before realizing no pictures are allowed. Too late!
Inside the Venetian.
The next day, we got more room service for breakfast and packed up. We headed across town to the temple to do a session before driving back to Logandale. I just love the Las Vegas temple. It has special meaning for me, having been the first temple I ever entered (open house), the temple I first did work for the dead in (baptisms), and the temple where I received my own endowment. Plus, Peter and I used to come do temple work together here before we got engaged and moved to Arizona.
It was neat being back in the temple. We ate lunch in the cafeteria, which is my favorite. The Las Vegas temple has the best cafeteria!
All in all, this little vacation was one of my favorites we have taken so far. We had so much fun and it was so relaxing. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

We are SO doing this! But I also wouldn't trade our Disney vaca for anything! And, we will also be doing Trump because I know him enough to know that he will not be outdone, his stuff is the best, whatever he touches is the best! That's the way he is. Anything with his name on is a class act. Can't wait to coppy cat you guys on this one!
