Eden and Levi have been playing "pretend" a lot. When we got back from our trip to Logandale in April, Eden and Levi started pretending that they were Grandpa and Grandma Willard (my parents). It was so funny to hear Levi try to talk in his low voice. I guess they must think that Grandpa and Grandma's lives are exciting enough that they want to be them!
As I said earlier, Jonah has a major thing for Scooby Doo. Eden likes them too, and she explains who all of the characters are. (Side note: My kids do this with almost all of their movies. Take Princess and the Frog for example. According to Eden, she's Taina, Jonah's the alligator, Levi is Prince Naveen, I am Charlotte LeBouf, and Peter is "the bad guy.") So back to Scooby Doo. Eden says Jonah is Scooby, Dad is Shaggy, Levi is Fred, she is Daphne, and I am Velma. Peter likes to tease her and tell her she's Velma. Eden gets so frustrated and points to Daphne and says, No, Daddy, I'm that girl!"
One time, Peter was teasing Eden about Velma and she said, "I don't want to be that girl." Peter said, "But she's smart!" And then Eden said, "Yeah, she's smart but she's UGLY!" We were cracking up for a long time at that one. It's pretty funny (and a little scary) that at three, she already can see the difference.
We have been crazy busy lately, and it's not going to let up this summer. The kids have been loving school. I just had an appointment with Eden's teacher and she has met all seven of her classroom goals this year, as well as both of her speech goals. I am so excited at how well she's doing! I think I'm going to get Levi screened when school starts again. He is even harder to understand than Eden was. I think he could really use some help with the Speech teacher.
Eden's birthday is coming up, and for some reason, I am really excited! Maybe it's because we don't have any kids to throw parties for from November until June. I'm ready for a party! I think we'll have a cute little party for her. I'm not giving away any of the details yet, though!
And I am deciding whether or not to fix my bottom teeth. I had braces in high school and lost my top retainer within a year and my bottom one five years ago. Two of my bottom teeth are barely crowding, and it is really bugging me! So I went to an orthodontist to see what would need to be done. It looks like I'll need a full bottom set for about 6-9 months. The good news is that we have really good dental insurance and it covers over half, which is really rare for adult orthodontics. They usually only cover minors. And I'd only need braces on the bottom. I always said I would rather do the braces thing all over again than have crooked teeth, and I still feel that way. I just don't know if I should do this thing now, or wait a while. In the meantime, I might get another quote.
Yep, so that's what's going on nowadays. That and Mother's Day is on Sunday. Here's what I'd love for Mother's Day:
1. Flowers
2. A gift card for shopping
3. Homemade cards from the kids (got them from school)
4. Flowers for my front and back yards
5. A new swim suit (I have one in mind)
6. A foot rub
7. Cheesecake

Oh my goodness! I finally just read this, only after 6 days of figuring out that you had posted. Your kids are the nuttiest! They come up with the craziest things to say. Maybe it's all kids and I'm just not around those little guys enough. And sorry that you have to be "ugly" Velma!! Too funny...
It is really fun when the kids are old enough to play together and pretend and make us laugh! What sweet kids!
