Peter had let Levi stay up late last night, and was reading him books while I was painting the living room. Here's what I heard:
Peter reading: Hi, I'm Emily Elizabeth. And this is Clifford, my big red dog. Clifford likes to play and splash in the ocean. Sometimes he makes a big mess. One day we went to visit my great-grandma. She likes Clifford. She made us some cookies. But then the police came and arrested her because she'd put drugs in the cookies. So Grandma went to prison. We went to visit her and she did not like prison at all. "I hope I make parole," Grandma said.
I was a little incredulous, though I don't know why. Peter does this stuff all the time. He must not have the attention span to read a kid's book without "embellishing" the details. Pretty soon our kids will be old enough to understand, so no more additions, thank goodness! Ha ha, please tell me I'm not the only one whose husband does this...

Oh that's too funny! Clint does the same thing, only he changes the lyrics to songs. They never make sense but he thinks it's hilarious.
Question. When you get a few minutes (ha ha), you think you could swing by my house? I have been trying to sew this blanket and am frustrated to tears. It's super thin, stretchy material and I can't get the stitching right. It makes the fabric pucker no matter what I do. I've tried changing the tension and adding paper, but no luck. Help! :-)
Um no, you are not alone! Josh makes up stuff all the time.
Roy does the same thing, must be a guy thing.
Hey, in my defense, in the actual story a cop does detain grandma and put her in a holding facility...my embellishment wasn't that far-fetched, and was more likely than the rubbish in the book (Clifford and the Big Storm).

TJ embellishes all the time! Makes the experience fun for adults and kids alike.
Not gonna lie; had to look up, "incredulous" in the dictionary.
You're not alone, my friend. At least it entertains us! I actually look forward to story time now.;)
I love the new background! It's very fitting for you and your family.
Yep. Alan does that too from time to time... mainly when he knows I'm listening. The girls call him on it now, and they think it's funny!
Yes it's a guy thing! Steve does it too. He does it to make the boys laugh... I giggle too at it.
