Good Finds

I have been trying to accumulate all of the big ticket items that I need for my food storage endeavors. I still need to get an electric wheat grinder, a hand-crank wheat grinder, a pressure canner, big water barrels, water purification stuff (still figuring that out), and basically about 9 more months worth of food.

I do already have a Bosch, an upright freezer in the garage, and now a Foodsaver! Yeah! I found this beauty for $64 as I was grocery shopping at Fry's one day. It was totally a coincidence since it was the only one and it wasn't even in the right section. I snatched it up quickly after doing a double-take at the price. These are usually $129 bucks!
As for other great finds, my sister informed me that she found our favorite candies at Smart and Final in Las Vegas. These elusive little Frooties are addicting! And she even found them in my favorite flavor, Fruit Punch! Yeah!
I wonder what other great finds are coming!

I found a giant bucket of chocolate milk at Costco - I think that will be our next big purchase. They also had a big bucket of wheat too. We'll need to get a grinder. But we do have our water purification set up - let me know if you want more info on the set up we have.

Oh yeah- I have two big buckets of the Morning Moo Milk and a few buckets of wheat too. Costco had it pretty cheap- couldn't pass it up!

Awesome. That is great that you are getting prepared. I need to work on that. It is hard to buy a lot of items though since Kevin's hours have been cut twice, money is really tight. We found a smaller container of Morning Moos chocolate milk at Walmart. Kevin made some, and he and the kids really liked it. We wanted to make sure that we would like the stuff before buying some for food storage. Right now our Walmart has lots of large cans of different items for food storage that cost under $15, like soup, canned fruit, etc. If you know if anyone else that wants a food sealer, buy.com is selling them for $65.99 with free shipping! Speaking of good neighbors...we decided that since we're surrounded by people with their own wheat grinders we'll just share with them. We have yet to tell them of our plan. :)

Keep up the good work with your food storage...there is great peace of mind to be had in being prepared!
