For My Fellow Twilight Fans

My sister-in-law, Jen, just informed me that they have cast the part of Edward in the movie Twilight! Apparently it will be Robert Pattinson, known for his role in Harry Potter 4 as Cedric Diggory.
I have some mixed feelings about it. I've had some mixed feelings about them even making a movie, because it might ruin my vision of the characters and setting. However, if the movie is anything like the book, it will be awesome. I can see this guy portraying Edward okay, but I still know what "my" Edward looks like. It's something like this:
Anyway, just thought I'd share the news. You can read all about it at Stephenie Meyer's website:

And by the way, The girl they cast as Bella is all wrong, In my opinion...

Connie - thanks for the update - I haven't been to Stephenie's website in a while.... how can you ever "cast" Edward??? I feel like no matter what, they will botch it, but I would DIE if they cast Hayden Christensen.... can't stand him - Star Wars ruined him as an actor for me!

Having just finished Twilight my self. I am not ready to see a movie made.Plus I just started New Moon. Like you I have my own idea of what Edward looks like? Some times it is better if books were just left to our imaginations.

Oh, if you wondering who I am. I Debbie's sister in law Jenny! Who grew up in Oceanside/Carlsbad with the Shirley boy's.I knew Tom, Brian, and Jack. I remember them from siminary and stake dance, stake activities. Last name use to be Ewing, Now I am a Shunn. I love blogging, saw your christmas card at Aunt Debbie's and checked out you blog. I agree, the characters can sure ruin the image we have in our heads, and those are the best actors/actresses for the movie. I hope it is as good as the books and not a disappointment.

hmmm Cedric will do well I think, the main thing that is important is that he can act well, that can overtake a lot of dissapointment and worry about his looks. If he plays the part well, it will be good, I think he should wax his brows for the part though. I do like the Edward that Kira has picked out on my computer for her Edward. I am always fine with them doing movies because sometimes I don't imagine things to the max where I know exactly who looks like who, I get a very general idea but not an exact image in my head, so I'm usually ok with it.

Wow. Edward! Thanks for the update. Yea, he's not exactly what I pictured in my head either, but I can totally see the potential. After looking at more pics of this guy online, I'm starting to have more faith in him. He's got a great jaw-bone. He may make a great Edward after all. I agree with Lexie...they may need to wax his brows. They seem a bit to bushy for perfect Edward.

Hmmm. .. not really digging this Edward. Thanks for the update. It's been about a month or so since I've been to Stephenie's web-site. Shame on me!

I know this sounds weird, but I've never been able to "settle" on an image of Edward in my mind. He keeps changing. I'm nervous about seeing the movie in general. You know how the movie is just never as good as the bok!

That is so funny-when I was reading the book I told my husband Edward reminded me of Hayden Christensen! I like this new guy. I am excited to see what Belle looks like, I never really got a clear picture of her in my mind.

Hey Connie! It's Mary your old companion. I have read and re-read the Twilight books and glad to see that you loved them too. They are a little hard to put down! I can't wait to see who they pick for Jacob. That could be a hard role to cast. Cute blog and super cute kids!
